Musically - by the time we heard them - we were too far gone into our own thing. He stated, "We'll never know how much influence we had on Kurt because we can't ask him that. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Curt Kirkwood was asked about the band's influence on Nirvana. Producer Alex Coletti told Guitar World, " wanted to hear the 'right' names - Eddie Vedder or Tori Amos or God knows who." Cris and Curt Kirwook joined the band for performances of " Plateau," " Oh, Me," and " Lake of Fire," the latter of which would receive plenty of play in the aftermath of the airing. Speaking of covers, three of those belonged to the Meat Puppets, whom Nirvana had been touring with just prior to the taping. Among the set list, only " Come As You Are" could be considered a major hit for the band. Unlike a lot of their peers, Nirvana didn't view this as a "greatest hits" show, instead opting to go deeper in choosing cuts and including a number of cover songs, something that didn't exactly sit well with the network. The disc featured a more stripped back sound and it should be noted that both Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic made guest appearances on the Lanegan disc. As Dave Grohl stated, "We'd seen the other Unpluggeds and didn't like many of them, because most bands would treat them like rock shows - play their hits like it was Madison Square Garden, except with acoustic guitars." Instead the band looked at Mark Lanegan's 1990 album The Winding Sheet as a source of inspiration. But the band wasn't exactly keen on replicating what had been done by others before. Nirvana, who had released their In Utero album just two months prior to the taping, had been pursued by the network for what would definitely be considered a coup for the show. Bring the loose end back over the back of the coil and secure with a 3rd layer. Temporarily tape down one end of the wire then coil the rest over the Kapton and secure with a second layer of Kapton. To make up for the wire not being insulated, wrap a layer of Kapton tape around the brass/copper nozzle. If you intend to make only one extruder and not use nichrome wire for a heated bed, the Makerbot deal is good, but if you need more than 5 feet, bare wire is cheaper. If you want insulated nichrome wire, it is sold by at $5 for 5 feet, or Pelicanwire, which I think has a minimum order of $100. The game exited early access for Windows and Mac on April 1, 2021. On 1 April 2020, free downloadable content (DLC) for the game, entitled the Bug DLC, was released for a limited time, players could buy the DLC, with half the money raised being donated to Doctors Without Borders. It was released via Xbox Game Preview on December 20, 2019. On 9 June 2019 at the E3 convention, Xbox announced via their Indie Developers program that TABS would be coming to Xbox One in the Xbox Game Pass later that year. The full version of the game was released in early access on Steam on 1 April 2019 for Windows and macOS. The game was released in open alpha in November 2016, while the closed alpha was released in December 2016. Landfall Games released the download for people who signed up to their website in July 2016. The game was developed using the Unity game engine. The game was made during a week-long game jam in a Swedish castle. A new update on November 3, 2021, added a map creator, allowing players to create their own battlefields. The full release of the game in April 2021 added both online and local multiplayer modes, and achievements. Both custom battles and units can be shared with other players via the in-game workshop. A December 2020 update added the Unit Creator, where players can create their own units, giving them abilities, clothing, and weapons from the already existing TABS units, as well as the spin-offs Totally Accurate Battlegrounds and Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator. Players can create their own battle scenarios, choosing from any of the available units, maps, and winning conditions. The game features twenty maps in total, with twenty-two additional "Simulation" maps. The maps in the game are centered around the same themes as the factions and differ in size and geography. The game has a new update Is "Fantasy Good and Evil update" the update features a fantasy conflict between good vs evil. Many units have special abilities that are unique to them or they share with a few others, such as flight, projectile deflection, and teleportation. Some of these units are hidden on various maps and must be found by the player before they are unlocked. The game has over 130 units across fourteen factions, which are mostly themed around different cultures and eras of human history. With the addition of a May 2019 update, players are also able to "possess" units-controlling them manually from a third- or first-person perspective. During ongoing battles, players can move the camera around the map to get a better view of the fight, and can slow down or freeze time themselves. While armies typically win by defeating all enemy units, a May 2020 update added new winning conditions, such as surviving for a given amount of time, or killing a specific enemy unit. Once either army has been defeated, the battle freezes and the player is informed of who the victor is. As soon as the player clicks "Start", the battle begins and the two armies rush forward to attack each other. The two opposing armies can be placed on either opposite sides of the map, or one can surround the other. In the latter, there is no monetary limit and players build both armies. In the former, players are given a limited amount of in-game money to build an army in order to defeat an enemy force. The game encompasses two main modes: Campaign and Sandbox. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a ragdoll physics-based battle simulator. Versions for Android and iOS are currently in development. The transaction is then signed and sent back to the software (2), which broadcasts it to the cryptocurrency’s network (3).Ī Step-by-Step Guide to Using a Hardware Wallet Users confirm that the amount and address are correct when prompted on the hardware device. Note that the transaction is still incomplete: it needs to be signed by the private key in the device. Once the user creates a transaction, they send it to the hardware wallet (1 in the diagram below). From there, they interact with software that allows the user to view their balance and make transactions. Hardware wallets are typically built to be able to plug into PCs or smartphones without leaking the private key - even machines that have been infected by malware. Since hardware wallets are offline at all times, they must be used alongside another machine that is connected to the Internet. In contrast, software wallets, or hot wallets, are online applications installed on devices like a computer or smartphone, offering greater accessibility but being more vulnerable to internet-based attacks. This makes them one of the more secure methods for storing cryptocurrency. Hardware wallets, also referred to as cold wallets, protect private keys from digital threats, such as malware or hackers, by ensuring that the keys never leave the device when used to sign transactions internally. Private keys are used to sign transactions, which means having access to one's private keys is the same as having access to one's crypto assets. We stayed in a hotel close to the park which made it convenient. It was average food and I'm a very picky eater, and didn't mind it. When we were there, they were remodeling the main cafeteria. My son takes a o lot of seizure medications so he needs a quick nap after breakfast. I would highly recommend going with a special needs child or adult. I can't recommend them enough on how they dealt with my son and his autism. That whole experience made me feel so at ease. The young man was very good and seem very eduacted on austism. When our turn was done our guide did ask again if he would want to try and swim with the dolphin. We did get to have him hug and kiss the dolphin. The staff were all very patient with my son and continued to give us plenty of time to get him to enjoy the dolphin. The dolphin swim was fun but my son choose not to do the swim. I also talked with the staff about them for a long time, the girls seem very educated. I felt it was a very fair amount of time with the flamingos. The flamingo was my favorite as for my son this was easier for him to do. We choose to do the dolphin swim and the flamingo mingle. Again just such an amazing person!!! Our whole crew wanted to spend more days there. He personally helped push her around for the end of our experiences. Tyler went and got us one of the parks wheels chairs that can go in the sand. She does pretty good on her own but with walking in the sand and concrete all day she along with us were getting tired towards the end. It is a long day and my mom has parkinsons. Tyler also helped each one of us with snorkeling in the reef which was another great experience. The swim with dolphins was a once in a life time experience for this iowa family. Tyler was made for this job and truly made this the best experience any of us have had in Florida. I don't think we could of kept our group of 9 going for all the things to do there. Having a personal host all day helped us enjoy the entire park. We did not spend much time at the cabana but our moms could rest there and the kids could find us back there. He met us at the beginning of the day and kept us on schedule delivered towels when needed had drinks brought to us. He made us all feel like king and queens. We can not say enough good things about our private host Tyler. We researched getting a cabana and so glad we did. I used a bit of silicone grease on the surface of the rubber piece and the gasket before reassembling. You can see that now the rubber piece is smooth, and the gasket has resumed a better shape. I then used silicone spray to clean everything up, the gasket as well. I also used a wire wheel on the access panel to get it clean, the inner surface in particular. I used 400 grit sand paper on a flat surface to rub it back to a smooth clean surface. The imprinted circle in the rubber piece is the culprit. I took brake cleaner and sprayed it down before opening it up - try to keep dirt out. The really rusty access panel on the outside of the pump takes a Torx 25 bit to open up - 2 screws. You shouldn't need to remove the other connections - you should have this by now. Remove the two hoses that connect to the left and right air bags - can't remember the wrench size but it was small. You need to lift up to remove it, it's got a couple of tabs that lock in to the top of the frame rail. Two 13mm bolts hold the compressor to the frame rail. Jack up the rear end and remove the passenger tire. Pull the fuse for the air suspension system. I found a description on another site about a method to refurbish the existing parts, so I thought I'd give that a go. I confirmed that the compressor still had pressure by using the aux hose and running using the switch to activate it.įurther research (thanks GMTNation) showed that the likely culprit was the check valve in the system no longer functioning, to which there is a rebuild kit. I found that my air bags were not inflating when my compressor ran. It's the story of a battle in Sadr City, Iraq, in April of 2004 ("Black Sunday"). It was painful to read, especially the parts about families learning their soldiers were killed or wounded. I stayed up late at night reading this book, mostly because I wanted to finish it quickly. The last book I read took me about 8 weeks to finish, as I have been lacking free time since my husband left on his second deployment to Iraq this year. Why doesn't somebody make movies about every soldier who dies at war, rather than dumb guys who have to cut their arms off to survive? How come? Seriously.Īnyway, I finished this book in 48 hours. But to die because you are defending freedom and ending terrorism and oppression - that is one of the very few ways to die in the world that actually has meaning. You die because you're old, you die in a car accident, you die because you get you arm stuck under a rock in a canyon - those are all deaths with no real meaning. It's so meaningless", I say "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" Almost every death in the world is meaningless. So when people say "That soldier died for nothing. They're doing it to protect us, to bring freedom to those who are oppressed, and to make the world a better place for the next generation. What are they doing that's awesome? They're leaving their family, home and comfortable life behind to bleed and die for US. On the other hand, the soldiers in this book are being killed and wounded in a horrific manner left and right. I'm kind of impressed that he managed to pull the whole thing off, but was there really anything heroic, or THAT awesome about what he did? Search and rescue crews have to risk their lives trying to recover people like him. I could never do what he did."īut really, what did HE do? He was reckless and took unnecessary risks, and he almost lost his life because of it. I read online (and watched youtube videos) about Aron Ralston (the arm guy), and saw lots of people say "Wow! What an amazing man!!" And "He has my respect forever. I ususally do not handly gore very well, but for some reason I seem to be getting older and more hardened, and I didn't stop the movie, or stop reading. The first few pages of this book are also pretty gory. I started reading this book about part of the war in Iraq the same night I finished watching the movie "127 Hours" about the guy who got trapped in a canyon and cut his own arm off to survive. This intimate portrait of the close-knit community of families Stateside-the unsung heroes of the military -distinguishes "The Long Road Home" from other stories of modern warfare, showing the horror, terror, bravery, and fortitude not just of the soldiers who were wounded and killed but also of the wives and children whose lives now are forever changed. The firefight in Sadr City marked the beginning of the Iraqi insurgency, and Martha Raddatz has written perhaps the most riveting account of hand-to-hand combat to emerge from the war in Iraq. So the families banded together in anticipation of the heartbreak that was certain to come. In time, some of the women in their circle would receive "the call"-the notification that a husband or brother had been killed in action. Back home, as news of the attack began filtering in, the families of these same men, neighbors in Fort Hood, Texas, feared the worst. Over the course of the next forty-eight hours, 8 Americans would be killed and more than 70 wounded. In April 2004, soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division were on a routine patrol in Sadr City, Iraq, when they came under surprise attack. From ABC White House correspondent Martha Raddatz, the story of a brutal forty-eight-hour firefight that conveys in harrowing detail the effects of war not just on the soldiers but also on the families waiting back at home. |
